Today i would like to tell you why scrap metal is a lucrative small\home business opportunity and why there is a chance to make money on it.

To start with - scrap metal business is not only about scavenging and definitely NOT about stealing metal like most people think. Of course, this business is not as clean and beautiful as any office job. But as any other thing in our world it also has advantages and disadvantages.

Advantages, the key facts:

• Metal as well as scrap metal have very high demand
• Metal and scrap metal cost a lot of money
• It is very easy to find most kinds of scrap metal
• This business helps to improve ecological condition of our mother Earth
• This business helps to lower the overall dispersion of metals on Earth

The disadvantages of this business are:

• The lack of information on the topic
• The scrap metal itself is sometimes dirty
• The stereotype that you can make money on scrap metal only by scavenging local trash bins

As you see this list consists mostly of common stereotypes because the lack of information about scrap metal leads to many misunderstandings. Surely, some of them aren't motiveless but anyway it's not the place where the real deal is. Thus, people who managed to see the scrap metal's true nature are smiling when they come across such statements.

The best part is: scrap metal business is not only environmental friendly it is also a business with very high demand. Just look around you - almost everything near you is made of metal! Think wider and you will see, that it is everywhere.. Starting from kitchen ware, beverage containers and ending with air planes!

You will ask me: "Yeah, many things are made of metal, but what has scrap metal to do with it?" Well, scrap metal is the key in this chain, because:

Mining and processing of the ore are very costly and resource demanding activities. But apart from that, why should anyone spend such big sums on them if.. If the same metal can be obtained by processing scrap metal which lies around in great quantities! Scrap metal processing into re-usable business metal consumes almost the third part of all energy necessary for the same quantity of metal from ore extraction process. Hence, re-using scrap metal is way more profitable than dealing with pure ore for almost every metal supplying company.

Metals have superb recycling capabilities, that's why they can be re-used thousands and thousands times. And keeping in mind that currently we have a huge demand on various metals (enormous amounts of building sites, various machinery, electronics, air planes etc.) we end up with a very high demand on them.

Almost every industry constantly needs metal in order to continue running. And that's why there is a huge demand on scrap metal by wide range of industries. They are constantly buying scrap metal from various sources and they offer really high prices. That's who are those "crazy" people who will gladly pay you thousands for a scrap metal. But do you think that they are crazy now?
